We liked all of the restaurants, I loved the secrets rice in the Himitsu restaurant. The food was awesome!!!! My husband had know problem finding delicious food too eat. A special mention to my girl Karisma who made me feel home, day or night asking how we were doing. During the day my husband played ping pong with Israel, we played bean bag toss with Emi, & Albert was always checking to make sure we were having fun. The entertainment provided was good, every night there was a new show to see, the water show was amazing. Later in the week he was working in the Oceana restaurant lunch & again he was happy to help us, you can tell he enjoys his job it shows. Pool side service was amazing, Paco was our server for the first few days & he was very attentive to our drinks, & entertained us throughout the day with his special dance. Walking the beach was nice, but rocky in some places. Every morning we had coffee Coco's Cafe with Liz making sure we had a special picture in our cups. Second room had wonderful views as well & close to the elevators, rooms higher up have better views. Our room was spectacular with an amazing view, we did switch rooms though, as our first room was close to an open area where we could hear Roosters early in the morning crowing. Our check in was easy & comfortable, Myra was always a big help to us the front desk throughout our stay. My husband & I stayed Secrets Puerto Vallarta for 10 days in mid December. For a resort that is trying to be so upscale, why am I having to see these poor employees do this weird choreographed dance everyday? The first day, they started dancing literally two feet in front of me, so after that we knew to sit as far away from that area as possible. Hard to relax, so we stayed by the pool 5) My biggest complaint- Each day at the pool at the exact same time, the "entertainment team" did this awkward dance to freaking Pit Bull/other hip hop music to, I assumed, "get the party started"? I have no idea what the point was, but it was awkward af (and I'm 27, so my husband and I were some of the youngest people at the resort). 4) When we sat on the beach, we were constantly bothered by locals trying to sell us crap. 3) Sometimes our room wouldn't get cleaned until like 4pm, which just got a bit inconvenient. The pool-side food was really just greasy sliders, burgers that seemed to always be gone, and frozen pizza. 2) Oceana and the pool-side food were big disappointments. The rooster crowing at 5am got pretty old on Day 3. However, there were a couple of things that diminished the up-scale/luxury vibe throughout our stay: 1) Another reviewer was dead on when they talked about the run down bus parking lot and the accompanying rooster (this is really only noticeable for those staying on the preferred-club side) that is right next to the hotel. The lobby was absolutely stunning! I learned from our trip that a 7-day all-inclusive may not be my personal favorite, but after our stay at Vallarta Bay, we definitely want to stay at other Secrets resorts! It is obvious the hotel strives to be the ultimate up-scale and luxury, which in many respects it is.

Drinks were also great! The room itself was beautiful and we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of champagne since it was our anniversary. The service was great, we had great experiences at most of the restaurants, and the hotel was beautiful. All in all, we had an amazing experience. The preferred-club was awesome and was totally worth it-I would recommend it if you get the chance. We booked a preferred-club junior suite through RCI. This was our first time staying at a Secrets Resort (and an all-inclusive). My husband and I vacationed here for a week in October 2015 for our honeymoon/one-year anniversary.
